Aisle Style

Baltimore Beauties

Real brides and beauty advice from the experts.

We found three beautiful, real, local brides-to-be, all getting married this year, and helped them put together a look—from hair and makeup to dress and jewels—that will wow as they walk down the aisle.

The Romantic Bride

HAIR/MAKEUP Alison Harper & Company, LLC

Ashley and her fiancé, Bill Resavy, will exchange vows at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis, followed by a romantic outdoor reception—inspired by the vintage rose garden—at Oxon Hill Manor. Ashley wanted classic, but not dated. So, we put her in a dress with a floral lace overlay, sweetheart neckline, and captivating trumpet gown shape. Her makeup is elegant—hints of rouge on her cheeks, eyes defined by a ring of charcoal liner—but with a modern deep-red pout.

The bold Bride

Our dazzling bride will wed her groom, Emem Ifon, at Celebrations at the Bay in Pasadena. The sunset ceremony and tented reception will incorporate traditional Nigerian elements against a backdrop of peach, gold, and cream hues. Not afraid of color, a blend of gold, green, and blue eye shadow highlights her eyes, while the rest of her makeup remains natural to help the hues pop. The gorgeous emerald necklace echoes the vivid green on her lids, and her shoulder-length hair is curled and worn down to keep from competing with the daring makeup.

The vintage Bride

Sarah and Brett Smith will tie the knot with a laid-back spring ceremony in Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in St. Leonard. The chic barbeque-themed celebration, planned by Sarah and Lemon & Lime Event Design, will feature delicious fare from Smokey Joe’s BBQ and tunes by Mixing Maryland. We loved mixing Sarah’s fresh look (her hair is short and chic) with a vintage Gatsby-esque scalloped lace gown and headpiece. Her defined brows and smoky eyes add a sultry, romantic touch, while bright lips keep it fun and celebratory.

Yagi earrings ($195) at Bijoux. Three-stone pendant ($8,000) at Smyth Jewelers.
