“The inspiration behind the whole design concept was celebrating spring and what grows here in Maryland. This was a shoot that only used American-grown blooms and foliage which is the passion behind my business. Celebrating all that grows here 365 days a year. The tulips were the focal point of the mantle design and I wanted it to feel as though the flowers grew out of the mantle. I wanted spring to explode indoors and have a very earthly ethereal vibe—something different we haven’t seen. Those tulips were all grown here in Maryland by amazing female flower farmers which adds to the story. I feel like it’s a very powerful yet delicate install with the movement of the tulips and the way that they dance.” – Kelly Shore, Petal by the Shore
