“Let’s face it, 2020 hasn’t exactly been the inspiring year everyone was hoping for. Between a global pandemic, social change, and world crises, we’ve all been put through more change and upset than we would normally face in a decade. But, what if, instead of focusing on the negative, we were able to shift our mindset to seek beauty in these imperfections? Wabi Sabi is a Japanese philosophy centered on embracing the imperfect and transient nature of life. What better time than now to really delve into such a mindset? Feeling inspired by the aesthetic of Wabi Sabi and a minimal Japanese vibe, wedding designer East Made Co teamed up with calligrapher/photographer Curved & Co to design a raw, emotive editorial, shot entirely on medium format film and centered on portraiture.”
