Mi Amore: An Amalfi Coast Inspired Shoot

Colorful handmade ceramics, cliffside lemon groves, and an abundance of limoncello . . . what's not to love.

Colorful handmade ceramics, cliffside lemon groves, and an abundance of limoncello . . . what’s not to love about the Amalfi Coast of Italy. When the talented duo of Costola Photography suggested a styled shoot inspired by their recent honeymoon in Italy, our group of creatives jumped at the opportunity. Event planner Heather Miller of Hitched by Heather took the lead by reaching out to a fellow wedding planner she met during a month-long trip to Naples, Italy last spring. Italian planner Gisena Morra helped to ensure our team curated an authentic Italian wedding inspiration right down to the little red scooter for the bride and groom. Alicia Jayne Florals designed a striking color board of inspiration using hints of blue, lemon and terra cotta derived from the Deruta Pottery plates used for the place settings. The floral varieties were designed en masse in modern style blue and white ceramic vases. Bailey Smith Calligraphy worked her artistry by personalizing everything from the invitation box and hand painted tile invitation to marble plate chargers to suspended arabesque tile lemons for the escort cards. Kim from With Wild and Grace provided all things paper and she perfectly complimented the Deruta pottery with her custom stationery suite. The vow booklets held by the bride and groom were the perfect touch that make weddings personal and unique: Luce Mia meaning “My Light” and Tesoro Mio meaning “My Treasure. Bowl of Cherries Catering had us drooling with her beautifully displayed charcuterie board, cheeses, seafood and pasta. They also provided the goodies for the guest welcome basket including fresh bread, salami, cheese, olives and, of course limoncello. The delicious sweet treats and lemon cake were provided by Desserts by Jordan. Can you say Holy Cannoli? Miranda Page Beauty worked her make-up magic and Tammi Wible did the hair styling for our bride and groom. The bride wore a chic ivory crepe “Heather” gown from BHLDN and our groom was outfitted by Generation Tuxedo. Various decorative elements from BHLDN rounded out this shoot with everything from glassware to cutlery. The Liriodendron Mansion in Bel Air, with its Georgian revival styled stuccoed brick was the perfect back drop for our Amalfi Coast inspired shoot.
