How You Met Alex and I met through mutual friends trying to set us up! They invited both of us separately to a deployment party in Pittsburgh and we met there, instantly hit it off and the rest was history.

The Engagement We moved to several different cities throughout our journey together, but Alex proposed to me in Pittsburgh where our journey started. He took me to a beautiful sunset dinner overlooking the Pittsburgh skyline and proposed to me privately and intimately at a hotel after that.
Wedding Design Inspiration When it came to designing our wedding, we wanted to convey a soft, moody color palette (olive green, deep plum, wine, mauve and ivory). We really cared about the *feeling* of our wedding, rather than the look of it. We knew that if the intention came through in the details, the love would showcase itself.
What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day We wanted our wedding to feel seamless, intentional, effortless and most certainly . . . not forced. Our ceremony and reception were both on a private yacht and every part of the night was done with purpose. We axed a lot of the “traditional” components (speeches, bouquet and garter toss, posed pictures) and opted for an evening filled with love, laughter and candid moments between us and our loved ones.

Favorite Details Some of our favorite details were the curated playlists we created with our DJ, the custom matchboxes made with our two fur babies, the detailed stationery made by our best friend and especially our “love story” that we shared with our guests on paper as they took their seat for dinner.
Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day If we could change anything about our wedding day, we would’ve made it about 10 degrees warmer.
Piece of Advice We would tell all engaged couples who are in the thick of planning or who are approaching their wedding day that when all is said and done and you two are together on your wedding night; nobody will care about which linens you chose, the signage you purchased or the florals you spent hours deciding on. It will only be about the love you two have and sharing that love with the most important people in your life.
