The Engagement Thanksgiving 2021 at our new home we had just built and moved into in January 2021.
Wedding Design Inspiration I was envisioning a sleek and minimalistic vibe—clean lines, simple elegance, and nothing too ornate or cluttered. A monochromatic palette of neutral tones, accented by subtle touches of sophistication, emphasizing quality over excess. I wanted the design to feel modern and airy, keeping it understated yet striking, so it reflected a polished, timeless look.

What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day One of the most unique and special elements of our wedding day was the custom living champagne wall, built by the Best Man. It wasn’t just a stunning visual feature—sleek and minimalistic, exactly how we envisioned—but also a clever way to welcome guests into cocktail hour. As they entered, everyone grabbed a glass for a champagne toast, setting a warm, celebratory tone right away. Plus, it doubled as a practical solution to ease the bottleneck at the bar, keeping the flow smooth and the vibe effortless. It was a personal touch that blended design and function perfectly.
Favorite Details The pipe and drape element we added around the perimeter of the ballroom. It completely transformed the space, making it feel like an entirely different venue. The sleek, minimalistic draping softened the room’s edges, created a more intimate atmosphere, and elevated the whole aesthetic to something custom and elegant. It was such a simple addition, but the impact was huge—turning a standard ballroom into something uniquely ours.

Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day My expectations were completely exceeded by our wedding planner, Christine McFarlane Events. She made it the most seamless day imaginable—no hiccups, no stress, just pure enjoyment. Christine did an incredible job orchestrating everything flawlessly, from start to finish. If you’re on the fence about hiring a planner, trust me—just do it! It’s worth every penny for that peace of mind and perfection.
Piece of Advice Once you dive into wedding planning, it’s a full-time gig—even with a stellar vendor team, you’re the one making key decisions and handling certain logistics no one else can. Take it day by day, and don’t hesitate to lean on your family, friends, and vendors for support. Then, on the wedding day, ditch your phone—seriously, let it go—and soak in every moment. It flies by so fast, and you’ll want to be fully present for it all!
