The Groom Room

The best places for wedding day prep.

Who says pre-wedding beauty indulgences are just for brides? We’ve rounded up our favorite spots for everything from haircuts and beard trims to facials and even waxing for the grooms.

The QG
This upscale business offers the usual classic barbershop-style treatments but in a super modern way. The two locations are also ideal for full wedding parties to book treatments with a cigar bar, restaurant, and pool tables to keep everyone busy until it’s time to head to the ceremony.

The Groommatory Barber Club
If it’s an “immersive barbershop experience” you want, this Mount Vernon spot checks all the boxes by grooming both the mind and body. There’s a relaxing outdoor lounge, plus a complimentary scalp massage and shampoo with each service.

Headmasters Grooming Salon for Men
Head to downtown Sykesville—part of the revitalized main street—for services that range from cuts, color, and shaves, to manicures and waxing (yes, for the guys), as they look to “revolutionize” the male grooming experience.

All About Men Barber Shop Located in Frederick, this contemporary barber shop opened in 2004. Owners Joe and Kim Kline offer haircuts, beard trimming and sculpting, along with a bar and space to socialize for the groom and his entire wedding party.

Tonsorium
This Owings Mills shop boasts a staff of skilled tonsorial artists—a fancy word that describes the work of those who give shaves and haircuts—who are friendly, vibrant, and creative. The in-shop pool table is a bonus.

Royal Razor Barbershop
Located in the heart of downtown Baltimore—not too far from Edgar Allan Poe’s gravesite—this multicultural barbershop does everything from a hot towel to face shaves and eyebrow trims.

The Fading Theory Barber Shop
Wholly owned by the American Descendants of Slavery, this place prides itself on implementing both traditional and modern cutting techniques for Black hair.

The Old Bank Barbers & The Old Market Barbers
Both locations, in Hampden and Remington, stress the importance of an authentic barbershop experience—including haircuts, beard trims, and face shaves. The goal is to make their customers not only look good but feel good.

Groom My Style
In-demand master barber Derek “Buck” Williams is the big draw at this Annapolis-based studio. Grooms come for massage therapy and expert haircuts.
