A Fox & His Anchor: All About The Details

I have shared our story and about the lovely people in our wedding, and now we have some more of the small but still important details.

Spring is finally here! This means I can finally get around to the DIYs that have been stacking up in my house because I didn’t want the fumes of spray paint or saw dust to cover my floors. This also means that wedding season is now in full swing, and mine is just around the corner. It’s crazy how much more I have been able to get done since it stopped snowing. Winter hibernation is totally a thing.

Within the last month we have had our tasting, sent out invitations, had a DIY get together with some friends, and had our flower consultation! One of my favorite parts of all of this was choosing our flowers and decor. The ladies at My Flower Box Events are amazing, and it was great spending a morning with them picking out all of the goodies they can supply for our wedding.

Another big feat for us this month was our invitations. Dave is a graphic designer, which meant he wanted to design the invitations. However, I knew almost exactly what I wanted. This meant compromising. We both knew it would have been easier to choose a pre-made invitation suite, send over our information, and order them. We wouldn’t have even touched them because the design studio sent them off for you as well. This wasn’t the way we went though, I knew it was a big deal for Dave to take his time and perfect the stationary just how he wanted. Print design was his thing he would say, so I gave in.

After a few weeks of going back and forth with colors, invitation types, size and several other things, we decided on a final design. Not everyone has them yet, so I will wait until my next post to show them off, but I can’t wait for every person to get their hands on them. It was a true labor of love for Dave, and then both of us to put them all together, but I couldn’t be more excited. We did find a way to include our wedding logo, which is practically going to be everywhere. #sorrynotsorry.

We also have an updated wedding website finished! We are using Squarespace, and it has been amazing. They have so many options and their customer service has been great. I highly recommend having a website for all of your guests to turn to for answers to any questions relating your wedding. Especially about travel accommodations and timing.

Amongst the chaos of everything else, having a day with some of my bridesmaids, friends and family to work on projects and just talk wedding with no pressure was one of the best memories of this process so far. It is easy to get caught up in the swing of things, and before you know it your wedding is a few weeks away. I have managed to take a few days since then to just relax and not spend hours planning every little detail, it’s difficult when I am a planner myself and enjoy the process so much, but I know Dave needs a break every now and then as well.

I don’t know what I would do without the amazing people in our lives that have helped us with so many things throughout this experience. It’s bittersweet to think that in two months it will be over with . . . but we will be our our way to our honeymoon as husband and wife! Woohoo!
