How You Met Juliette and Dean met in February of 2017 at a house party on Main Street at the University of Delaware, where they both attended undergrad. Juliette approached Dean first, and the rest was history.

The Engagement Dean proposed to Juliette in March of 2023, one day before his 27th birthday. The engagement was in front of the fountain at Lincoln Center, where he got down on one knee, and she was ecstatic to say yes. Their family and friends were awaiting at the Milling Room on the Upper West Side for a surprise proposal party.
Wedding Design Inspiration Juliette drew inspiration for the wedding design from the timeless beauty of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where she spent much of her childhood boating and sailing with her family. She wanted the celebration to reflect the area’s natural charm, coastal elegance, and personal significance. An abundance of flowers brought a romantic, garden-inspired feel to the day, while thoughtful details honored her family’s connection to the water, including a handmade canoe built by her father, which served as a personal design element to hold the ice-cold beers! The wedding also took inspiration from the groom’s hometown of New York City, with black and white cookies, espresso martinis, and an abundance of delicious food.
What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day Father Jack Ward, the catholic priest who married Juliette and Dean, is a longtime family friend who also delivered all of the bride’s sacraments and married her own parents in 1990.
One of the most unique aspects of the wedding weekend overall was that the entire wedding party was able to stay together on the island in the beautiful Gibson Island Club cottage houses, right next to the bride and groom. Having everyone in one place transformed the celebration into a truly memorable four-day affair, with impromptu DJ sets, long walks to the beach, and a ton of laughter.

Favorite Details The napkins! Each napkin used during cocktail hour, and dessert had one of four special notes the couple had written to each other since they met. The ice cream was brought in from UDairy Creamery, the couple’s favorite ice cream spot in Delaware, and the place where they shared their first official dates together.
The bride also loved the 14-foot flower chandelier hanging above the dance floor, which was a focal point of the celebration.
Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day The groom’s outfit change! Dean wore a classic black tuxedo for the ceremony and dinner before changing into a light blue tuxedo jacket for the reception. Both jackets featured a custom embroidered message on the inside reading, “Dean <3’s Juliette.”
