This Friday marks our 3 month anniversary! Time flies but it also feels like this was just yesterday. Despite the weather, our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. I know everyone thinks that but I still get goose bumps looking through our photos, thinking about all of the little moments from the day (which went well in to the morning).
It truly was the BEST DAY EVER and I couldn’t be more thankful to our family and friends who share it with us.
After obsessively checking the forecast all week, we knew going in to that Friday the rain chance was 60%. However, I knew we loved the inside space at the Silver Swan so I tried not to think about it. We woke up to sunshine and my girls came to my suite for hair and make-up. Behind the Veil Beauty seriously worked magic on all of us. I ended up loving my hair even better than what they did during my trial!
We then headed to the Silver Swan Bayside to get dressed and take a few photos. Mike and I chose not to do a first look, which was unfortunate since it turned out to be our only opportunity to take pictures outside.
Fortunately our wonderful, amazing, fabulous photographer Krista Jones offered us a “Day After Shoot” just for Mike and I.
Our ceremony was short but a heartfelt reflection of our love for not only each other but our family and friends who have helped shape us to be the people we are today. I will never forget my father squeezing my arm and hearing the gasps from our guests as we turned the corner. Mike was also floored and wouldn’t stop telling me how beautiful I looked throughout the ceremony…the reaction every girl dreams about.
The rest of the night was filled with smiles, tears, laughter, dancing, amazing food, more dancing and a late-night surprise of snowballs and cheeseburger sliders. The night ended with a chorus kick-line (totally spontaneous) and a sparkler send off. That of course didn’t signal the end of the night however as we hosted an after-party at The Jetty, a local bar directly next to the hotels. Michael and I woke up the new morning still reveling in the amazing night before. I can honestly say our wedding was a dream come true and was well-worth all of the work my mom and I put in to it. It was not just a celebration of our love, but a celebration of two families truly becoming one. – Carrie Taneyhill
