How You Met We met in college, our roommates were dating, so we spent quite a bit of time together. After graduation, Haley went to spend a year in South America and Paul went to work in the Seattle. We both found our way back to DC and reconnected.
The Engagement Paul planned a perfect day at the Cherry Blossoms by the Tidal Basin, my favorite time of year in DC. He had all of our most important people in town and surprised me with not only the engagement but all of our loved ones waiting to celebrate with us!

Wedding Design Inspiration We both love being outdoors, we knew we wanted an environment that made us feel like ourselves and could celebrate with those we love in a relaxed and fun environment. Haley was inspired by the venue, leaning into the beautiful landscape and fall weather.
What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day We really tried to be as authentic to ourselves as possible, incorporating the people and places that are important to us in the details. Haley’s dad made the seating chart, Haley and her Bride’s People worked hard to hand make all of the friendship bracelets as party favors, and Paul’s dad provided homemade limoncello for the celebratory toast. Our groom’s specialty cocktail was a nod to our cat Tabasco—a whiskey sour with Tabasco sauce

Favorite Details The entire day came together so perfectly. The seating chart, created from my vision, by my dad was one of the most special things I could have asked for.
Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day Paul and I really leaned into fall, we love October. The season, weather, vibes are our favorite! Turns out Mother Nature had other plans, and we had a beautiful 82-degree day on the last weekend in October. We had planned to have hot beverages and blankets for our guests since our ceremony was outdoors, so our caterers quickly pivoted and turned our hot beverage bar into an iced beverage bar.
Piece of Advice Be yourself, plan the day for you!
