How You Met Keenan and Jess actually grew up on the same street a few miles apart but attended different schools and never crossed paths. Their adult lives led them to each living in West Virginia and North Carolina. In 2017, they were both home for the infamous Thanksgiving Eve and met in Downtown Frederick. They ended up going their separate ways but reconnected the following year when they were home for Christmas. Their jobs eventually landed them both in Baltimore at the same time and they moved in together July 2020.

The Engagement: After taking the ring all the way on their trip to Key West, Keenan couldn’t find a good time to propose. When boarding the plane Jess actually sent a Snapchat that said, “when you think you’re going to get engaged this year, but he still leaves you for priority boarding.” A few hours later in their home, they began unpacking. Keenan kept asking Jess if she could put things away for him. When she was putting things away in the bathroom, she turned around and there was Keenan was on one knee. Could not have been more on brand for the two.

What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day We kept our guest list on the smaller size, but it was perfect. Looking back, yes it was the best day, but it felt like we were celebrating just being together with our closest family and friends and that meant the most to us rather than having this big event. We loved being able to go to half of our cocktail hour to be able to say hi to everyone.

Favorite Details During the father daughter dance, we transitioned it to “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” and had the Oriole bird come out. He really knows how to get a party started. I’m a sucker for little details so those were the things I cared about the most. I found super old photos of couples for our seating chart, and it surprised a lot of people. We always tell people Baltimore is the greatest city in America, it’s what the benches say. So, I had to have that be our cocktail napkins.

Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day We underestimated how many people would use the shuttle and on the way home it was packed to the brim but is honestly a core memory because the party kept going all the way back to the hotel.

Piece of Advice Everyone tells you, “It will all work out” and it’s annoying to hear when you’re in the thick of planning but literally nothing matters when you get up to the alter and see your soon to be husband for the first time that day.
