Wedding Date October 13, 2023

Number of Guests 65

How You Met Danny and I met while we were attending Arbutus Middle School in 2005. After middle school Danny and I both attended Western School of Technology, and continued our friendship. Once we graduated high school in 2013, we started dating July 19, 2013.

The Engagement On October 2, 2018, during our trip to Killington, Vermont we got ENGAGED!!! Our engagement was something out of a fairytale. We had a road trip to Ben & Jerry’s and explored Vermont. When we got back to our campsite it was pouring rain. Danny started a little campfire to keep us warm, while we admired the view of the forest. Suddenly, Danny got on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Wedding Design Inspiration We wanted to do an offbeat Maryland wedding theme. Edgar Allan Poe was our inspiration. Having gotten engaged in Vermont (New England), and having Poe born in Massachusetts (New England) we ran with that. Poe is also iconic to Maryland’s history. Plus, we are having a Friday the 13th wedding in October. It’s a must to do something spooky.

What was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day Our wedding date is consistent with numbers that are important to our relationship. Ten being our 10th year of dating, and our engagement being in October. Thirteen is the year we started dating, and how many years from our engagement we’ve been friends. Twenty-three is the age we got engaged. (Also, 10+13=23). This date was picked the night we got engaged. There is so much I can say that was special about the wedding day. It was a huge celebration with our friends and family. One thing however was during our ceremony my brother Christopher read one of Edgar Allan Poe poems called “Annabel Lee.” Danny and I were told during the reading there was a flock of crows that flew over the courtyard.

Piece of Advice Don’t over think the wedding planning process. Have fun with it. Don’t let outside opinions affect what you want. This is your day. No matter how unique your theme maybe. Understand not everything will be prefect. Embrace those imperfections.
