How You Met Lindsay and Josh met in the same pre-law fraternity at the University of Michigan; Josh went on to pursue a career as an attorney, and Lindsay recently completed an MBA in marketing. After Lindsay graduated from Michigan in 2017, the two were in a long-distance relationship for 5 years, before finally reuniting in Chicago (where they live now.)
The Engagement On April 16, 2023, Lindsay was unexpectedly woken up by eight of her best friends who had flown to her apartment in Chicago from all over the country. They helped Lindsay get ready for a day of excitement: a scavenger hunt to the couple’s favorite Chicago spots, surprise appearances from both families and tons of friends, culminating in a beachside proposal accompanied by a violinist playing their song “All My Lovin” by The Beatles, which represented staying together through 5 years of long-distance.

Why Baltimore The pair chose to get married in Baltimore, where Lindsay was born and raised, as it was always her dream to hold a part of the wedding weekend festivities at her family’s house in Pikesville. They loved the Four Seasons from the first visit—drawn to the incredible views of the city they spent so much time together in and excited to get married with the Baltimore skyline in the background.
Wedding Design Inspiration Colorful! We both have colorful personalities and love bringing people together for a celebration. We loved the idea of finding a perfect balance between elegance and abundant joy, and our florist Victoria Clausen executed that vision to perfection, cultivating vibrant and unique floral arrangements, ceiling decor, and bouquets. A very colorful couple matched with a pop in every element of our wedding weekend.

What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day/Favorite Details: Most of our favorite touches involved memorializing our family members who could not be with us for the big day. Two months prior to their wedding, Lindsay’s beloved maternal “Bubbie” (grandmother) passed away. Of great comfort was the fact that Bubbie knew Lindsay was making a “topper” for the wedding canopy from the lace of Bubbie’s dress and of Lindsay’s mother’s wedding dress. After Bubbie passed in June, Lindsay took a portion of the lace from Bubbie’s dress and wrapped it around her wedding bouquet as well. We also incorporated blue hydrangeas into the floral arrangements as a tribute to Lindsay’s late paternal grandmother, Myrna, who always had them in her garden.
We also went to great lengths to try to provide each of our guests with a personalized experience at our wedding. Each party received an individualized handwritten letter as their table assignment wherein we shared fond memories, expressed our appreciation for our relationship, and thanked them for being there to celebrate our love. It was a lot of work –we wrote 140 cards in all—but we felt it was important to share our gratitude to each of our guests personally something we knew we would not have time to do during the reception.

Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day The most unexpected event was actually the following day –our honeymoon! Josh planned the entire nearly-three-week trip without Lindsay knowing the destinations or having any input – she only had packing tips and a passport. After flying to LAX, Josh revealed the first stop: Fiji. The three stops in Australia (Melbourne, Uluru, and Sydney) stayed a surprise until they left Fiji. The trip included serene beaches, sunrise hikes in the Red Centre, and a show at the Sydney Opera House—all perfectly tailored by Josh.
Piece of Advice On your wedding day, make a conscious effort to stay connected with your partner—hold each other’s hands as much as you can and try to move through the evening together. It’s easy to get pulled in different directions, but sharing the same moments ensures you both experience the day as a couple, rather than spending the night apart and later telling each other what the other missed.
