How You Met We met through our best friends who are siblings.
The Engagement On a very cold Minneapolis March night, Nicholas proposed to Jasmine before they went to see the Minnesota Orchestra featuring Leslie Odom Jr. They ended the night at their favorite wine bar, Troubadour where they were serenaded by their favorite musician Reynaldo Moreno.
Wedding Design Inspiration We wanted our day to be classic and timeless, so we could look back at pictures as if it was yesterday. Our flowers were the centerpiece of our day and hold a special place in our hearts as the lavender grown by Butterbee Farm was included in the florals and represented Jasmine’s deceased maternal grandmother.
What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day We had many guests who traveled for our day, so our wedding weekend highlighted the best of Baltimore, including an Orioles baseball game, rehearsal dinner in Fells Point at Barcocina, Rawlings Conservatory, The Baltimore Museum of Art for our wedding venue, and the post-wedding brunch at Captain James Crab House. We wanted to provide a true Baltimore adventure for those who hadn’t experienced all the city has to offer.
Favorite Details Our first look on the steps at Hotel Monaco in downtown Baltimore and dinner and dancing under the Spencer Finch Moon Dust Light installation in the Baltimore Museum of Art’s Fox Court.
Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day The matron of honor, Jasmine’s sister, Camille Powe did a great job in her speech portraying Jasmine’s childhood and how it shaped the person she is today. The sisters always wished for a brother and Camille thanked Jasmine for finally making that come true. The icing on the cake was when DJ Carl took note of a key part of Jasmine’s childhood during the speech and played MMMBop by Hanson during the reception.
Piece of Advice Make sure you take a few moments for you and your new spouse during your wedding day. The day goes by so fast and it’s important to take time for yourselves to reflect on the best moments of the day.
