How You Met We met on a dating app

The Engagement A nice dinner at home from one of our favorite restaurants, just the two of us and our dog.  The engagement ring was designed with a diamond that came from a pendant that Matt’s paternal great grandfather gave his great grandmother.

Wedding Design Inspiration A modern/industrial garden party with lots of greenery and soft jewel tone colors to inspire the florals and decor. From the beginning, Tamika knew that she wanted large ferns hanging from the ceiling to evoke the feeling of being on a porch or in the backyard. Our amazingly talented wedding planners were able to pick up on our ideas and add gorgeous elements to carry out the theme.  We wanted to lean into the spring time vibes, but also include elements that were specific to us. For example, the space for the cocktail hour was much more of a lounge vibe with a continuation of the colors and florals.

What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day We had a telephone guestbook that people used to leave messages and then we had all of that pressed into a record. Also, we were excited to share Baltimore-based gifts with our guests through our welcome bags: our guests received tote bags from From Baltimore with Love and gifts from 228 Grant Street Candle Co., Berger cookies, Utz chips, and Cholula (not local, but so good!) 

Favorite Details We had custom pug cutouts to pay homage to our dog and custom Monopoly-inspired place cards for guests.

Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day We were excited to have catering staff waiting with champagne and sparkling water for our guests when they arrived to our venue, which worked out mostly as expected. Because we’re also known to like/make a good cocktail, some folks went straight to the (not yet opened) bar to get one of our signature cocktails.

Piece of Advice Wedding planners make it all way easier! Anna and Jordan took all the stress of planning our wedding away almost as soon as we started working with them.
