How You Met: We met in Ocean City, during Fourth of July weekend in 2012.

Wedding Design Inspiration We wanted our wedding to speak about us more than anything. One of the coolest pieces of inspiration for us was our venue. The Elm was originally part of the same cotton mill as the building we were living in. It felt like it not only added a little bit of history but spoke directly to our style. We wanted it to be simple, comfortable and a little funky and I think we were able to hit them all with the Elm.

What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day Our ceremony was definitely the most unique aspect of our wedding. Gavin is Jewish and I am Catholic. The priest that performed our ceremony has known my family for the past 20 years, married both of my cousins and I knew I wanted him to marry us. Who knew technically Catholic priests can only perform weddings outside of churches if the other individual is Jewish? We worked with Fr. Porter and Gavin’s uncles to create a blended ceremony that honored both my Catholic roots and his Jewish roots. It was really beautiful to be able to honor both of our families in our ceremony. And honestly, nothing says let’s get to the celebration like a big “Mazel Tov” and breaking of the glass!

Favorite Details My aunt and florist created the most incredible cocktail hour in the alleyway outside of the Elm. We had string lights, a handmade bar, an oyster bar and sofas for seating. It was a completely unexpected space that ended up being amazing.
