Laura & Bryan

Occupations Laura is physician assistant in plastic and reconstructive surgery; Bryan is a software engineer

Wedding date May 20, 2023

Number of Attendees 90

How You Met We met on Match.com in December 2019—just in time to be together through the pandemic.

The Engagement Laura is the planner in the relationship and given that we had discussed getting engaged, Bryan was worried that Laura would suspect something if he suddenly started planning something on his own, so: Laura planned a fall 2022 trip to Asheville, North Carolina and ultimately Bryan used this opportunity to plan the engagement. He knew Laura had picked out all the hiking trails and that Laura wanted a good selfie at the top of the hike, so he set up a selfie stick and captured the engagement on video selfie while Laura thought they were just taking a picture.

Wedding Design Inspiration Laura did not want a very fancy wedding and loves color and flowers. She wanted flowers to be the focal point of the space during the wedding and bring fun and festive and celebratory vibes.

What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day Our wedding was the first one at The Loom venue. Laura’s cousin, Molly, is a florist/artist and owns a floral design company based in San Diego. She came to Baltimore to do the wedding flowers and it was for sure the most special detail of our day.

Favorite Details Our flowers (including the way Molly decorated the wedding cake) and our escort card candy display turned gummy candy bar

Piece of Advice
1) Being organized and planning ahead (even with a short timeline—we  got engaged end of October 2022 and married May 2023) will for sure ease stress and anxiety in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. If organization and planning isn’t your thing, definitely find people who can help you so that you can enjoy the wedding week and day.

2) Slow down and enjoy wedding week. Looking back, the week leading up to my wedding is one of my favorite memories. It was so exciting, and I felt so special!

3) Expect for something not to go right so that when it happens, it doesn’t ruin your day.
