How You Met We met in 2017 when Zack was a bartender at my favorite bar in town. I had a crush on him so I would go often. One night when Zack was off work, he came in to have a drink and we talked all night. We were inseparable after that. We spent every single day together. We both kind of knew right away that we were each other’s forever.
The Engagement Zack proposed in August 2021. Part of me knew it was coming, I guess mostly women’s intuition. He planned a date for us a few towns over. Before dinner we went to take a walk near a lighthouse. He proposed in front of the lighthouse and had a hidden photographer. We did a small proposal photo shoot afterwards. After dinner we went back to our hometown where he surprised me with a full engagement party with all of our closest friends and family. It honestly was the greatest day of my life—until the wedding.
Wedding Design Inspiration I mainly just winged our whole wedding design and preparation. Pinterest was my friend. I would say my style in general is kind of vintage/boho and I think that was prevalent in our design and decor as well as our stunning venue. Zack is happy to go along with whatever I want thankfully.
What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day Instead of having flower girls we had . . . flower horses. My two brothers wore full on horse costumes and walked down the aisle to “Old Town Road” while handing out seltzers to our very entertained guests. Also, my younger brother was our officiant, which was very special to me. Zack and I have a similar sense of humor and one thing we love about each other is even on the most magical and love filled days of our lives, we want to laugh.
Favorite Details One of my favorite details was our photobooth. We loved that our guests were able to capture photos all night long that they also got to keep as souvenirs. We also have access online to all the photos so it’s fun to look back and reminisce. Another thing that I really loved was having a memory table that had photos of our loved ones who have passed away, as a reminder that they were there with us on our perfect day.
Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day I hate to say everything went as planned because that sounds boring. I would say the most unexpected thing was that we didn’t have any mishaps or unexpected moments. We are pretty laid back so we kind of just went with the flow and everything went smoothly.
Piece of Advice Advice for the wedding day itself would be to have a day of coordinator so that you don’t have to sweat the small stuff.
