“We wanted a party everyone would enjoy, and we wanted our wedding to be a celebration of our love for Baltimore, our family, and the neighbors that have become our friends and family. In that we were successful—everyone was having a good time. When the ribbons were released on our fully operational, 11-foot-tall Baltimore streetlamp chuppah, suddenly it was just us. Completely hidden in a ribbon cocoon, we could share a kiss that was just ours. I didn’t want to leave.”

Wedding Design Inspiration Colorful Baltimore
What Was Unique and Special About Your Wedding Day A giant mechanical Baltimore streetlamp chuppah that could only be activated when 150 guests pulled on 150 ribbons attached to 150 rattails.
Favorite Details All of the art projects we had for guests, including painting river rocks, painting wooden Baltimore rowhouse models, and the spin art bike.
Most Unexpected Event On Your Wedding Day How hard and enthusiastically everyone pulled on the chuppah, causing some unforeseen delays, but ultimately resulting in a beautiful, messy rainbow that sheathed us in color and wonder.
Piece of Advice Have plenty of activities to keep your guests happy and engaged if you can, especially if you are inviting children.
